One of the better chess variants, hexagonal 3 player chess is simple to learn and allows a 3rd person to play. Additional, complex rules are minimal and the strategy and intrigue of standard chess is retained. Moving across the hexagonal board does take some getting used to though!
This is the smaller sized 3 player chess set with a 32cm board (at the widest point) and a 5cm (height) king. Whilst small, it's still a fine size for play and very portable.
The 3 player chess set comprises a hardwood hexagonal board that folds to double as storage for the pieces. Please note that this board does not feature notation / edge numbers around the border.
The wooden chessmen are nicely crafted from hornbeam and beech wood and are felted. They are finished in 3 colours: brown, white and red.
