Dual-Side Wooden Go Board - 13 x 13 & 9 x 9 Layout

A dual-side wooden Go board with both the 13 x 13 and 9 x 9 layouts. Ideal for beginners, these smaller-sized boards allow for quicker matches, help to improve technique and understanding and ensure those learning the game aren't overwhelmed as is often the case on a full-size 19 x 19 board.

This double-sided board features a MDF core with a nice beech wood veneer. It is entry-level, but good quality and very practical.

9 x 9 Go Board (36mm thick, beech wood veneer, no stones)

A compact-sized, good quality wooden Go board with the smaller 9 x 9 playfield. This is therefore ideal for beginners, learning the game and improving understanding and technique. It's also perfect for quick matches between players of all abilities.

The board has a good weight and substantial thickness at nearly 4cm. It has a MDF core, but with a nice beech veneer that gives it the appearance of a solid wooden board.

An added feature to this board are the 4 legs that raise the playfield and elevate the aesthetic - they also allow the board to be easily picked up and moved mid-match.

19 X 19 Folding Bamboo Go Board

A hinged bamboo Go board with a full-size 19 x 19 grid. Made from laminated bamboo with indented lines, this is a good size board for play that looks the part and is a step up from cheaper veneer boards.

The board is hinged so can fold in half when not in use for practical, compact storage.

Dual Sided 13/9 Table Go Board (Hiba / New Kaya)

A dual-sided table Go board with both 13x13 and 9x9 game layouts. Japanese made by Go specialist Kurokigoishiten, the board is made up of 3 - 4 pieces of Hiba or New Kaya - both woods are highly revered for Go board manufacture - with the beautiful wood grain prominent on both playing sides.

13 and 9 boards are well suited to beginners and ideal for learning to play the game of Go. The smaller layouts also allow for quicker games. Both grid layouts are printed onto the wood.

Glass Go stones (up to 9mm) are recommended for use with this Go board - and beginner players in general.

 

Wooden Go Board - 36mm

Full size, good quality Go table board. The added thickness gives a nice solid feel and reduces the chances of board movement spoiling the game midway through.

As with all genuine Go boards, the 19 x 19 grid is slightly longer than wider. Composition wood core with a beechwood veneer. The opposite sides of two edges of the board are made of real wood showing a realistic end-grain giving the impression of a solid wood board.

Bamboo Go Board with Etched Lines (470 x 440 x 50mm)

Shin Kaya (Alaska Spruce) 3cm Table Go Board / Goban

A stunning table Go board / Goban manufactured from Shin Kaya (Alaskan Spruce), measuring 46 x 43 x 3cm. This 3cm thick board is made from solid pieces of wood joined together and features printed lines. The board is made in such a way that the joins are barely noticeable with the beautiful wood grain prominently on display.

Shin Kaya is widely accepted as one of the finest timbers for Go equipment. This full-size board is perfect for players after a statement piece for their Go set.

From Kurokigoishiten of Japan, a Shin Kaya table Go board made up of 3 - 4 pieces of wood measuring approximately 3cm in thickness. This is a genuine, Japanese made Goban in a good size and at an affordable price.

Shin Kaya is generally regarded as one of the finest materials for the production of Go equipment and this fine table board is ideal for Go enthusiasts looking to upgrade their set.

Please note that the grain of the wood does feature prominently across the board and may differ to what is shown in the pictures. It's also worth noting that some of the wood joins may be visible although they do not detract from the overall beauty of the Goban.

Shin Kaya (Alaska Spruce) 6cm Goban

A stunning Go board that is completely solid, wonderfully crafted and very chunky. It measures approxiamtely 6cm in height and would therefore serve as a fine alternative to a Goban with legs.

Extremely high quality board manufactured in Korea, made from solid chunks of Shin Kaya (Alaskan Spruce), generally accepted as one of the very best woods for Go equipment. The craftsmanship is exquisite and the joins are virtually invisible on the playing surface.
