These baize products are ostensibly designed for Pool Tables but the cloth is good quality at a decent price and so should be good for Bagatelle. They are designed for only the bed of the table but since Bagatelle tables are much thinner, the off-cuts can be used for the cushions (side rails of the Bagatelle board). The nap of the cloth runs from the spot end to the baulk end of the table.

For bagatelles of dimensions that don't work with the standard cuts, we can cut a length from a standard billiard cloth roll - the roll is 216cm wide. This product is sold and cut by the metre and a vital factor to consider is the nap of the cloth which runs down the roll. For example, if your table is one piece of 190cm long, you should not attempt to buy a 100 x 216cm section because the nap of the cloth will then run sideways across the table (causing the balls to curve) rather than lengthways down the table. In this case, a 2 metre length or more would be required.

Here are our suggestions for lengths to buy in relation to table size:

• One piece tables up to 9 ft long: Buy 300 x 216 cloth
• One piece tables up to 12ft long: Buy 400 x 216 cloth
• For Folding Bagatelle tables, it's a game of 2 halves... Because the cloth is so wide, as long as your table is no wider than 3.5 feet, you can cut the cloth in half lengthways and you will have 2 adequate pieces of cloth with the nap in the right direction.
• Folding tables larger than 6ft - can buy 200 x 216 cloth
• Folding tables up to 6ft long - can buy 100 x 216 cloth

In many cases, a large portion of the cloth will not be used but that's unavoidable. Some folding bagatelle tables also have baize stuck to their underside. If you also need enough baize for the underside as well, these cases are too difficult for us to advise - you will need to do some area calculations for your specific table.
