The Drakes Pride Bowling Arm is a revolutionary product designed to enable bowlers with back problems or mobility issues to still enjoy the game of bowls. Approved by Bowls England & Bowls Australia, this bowling arm is a great bowling aid for the elderly and/or disabled player who may struggle to bowl in the conventional way. It provides a comfortable and secure way to deliver a bowl, making the sport more inclusive and accessible.
The arm is held by the handle at the top and then squeezed to release the bowl as the arm is swung. It allows the bowl to be delivered without the usual bending and crouching that's required.
The Drakes Pride bowling arm is available in 4 sizes; long (28"), medium (25"), short (23") and "wheelchair" (18") - measured in the 'open' position. To determine the size needed, stand up straight with arms by sides and measure the distance between the clenched hand and the ground. This is the approximate length required. If you are stuck between two sizes, it is recommended that you go for the smaller one.
We have tested the arm with a carpet bowl (around 10cm diameter) and it also worked fine. However, we cannot guarantee it will work with bowls smaller than this.
