The Vavona Burl is sliced from the burl growths on huge Redwood trees, resulting in some of the largest and most uniform burled veneer in the world. The grey colouring on this Backgammon is due to a special technique that mimics the natural weathering and ageing process of the wood, resulting in a beautiful pearly grey.
The Pearly Grey Vavona Backgammon Set is handmade by artisans in Greece using the art of marquetry to construct this beautiful board. Marquetry is the art and craft of applying pieces of veneer to a structure to form decorative patterns and designs; a mainstay across the Manopoulos range.
This magnificently elegant Backgammon features natural and dark wood inlaid points and comes with a set of 30 brown and white Mother of Pearl checkers, 4 dice, a doubling cube and a pair of wooden dice shakers.
